Java Requirements

Mirth® Connect is written in Java and runs on any system capable of running a Java virtual machine. Java requirements for Mirth® Connect include the following: Java 8 or later Supported JRE/JDK distributions: The official Oracle® JRE/JDK OpenJDK distributions from various organizations Note: NextGen Healthcare recommends Oracle's OpenJDK distribution. Note: When using Java 9 or greater, there are some additional Java virtual machine options that need to be set. See Using Java 9 or greater for more information. Mirth® Connect System Requirements

The Mirth® Connect server is a fully standalone application that does not require an application server. You do not need to install a container service like Tomcat, Glassfish, etc. The following requirements apply to any computer running the Mirth® Connect server, Command Line Interface, or Administrator. Operating System Requirements Windows XP or later macOS (OS X) 10.7 Lion or later Linux Processor (CPU) Requirements 32-bit or 64-bit x86 processor Note: Apple M1 and M2 processors are currently not fully supported. Changing the Database Type

By default, Mirth® Connect is configured to connect to an embedded Apache Derby database for quick deployment, development, and testing. Database Tab

The Database tab enables you to manage Mirth® Connect's internal database. The following fields are available on the Database tab. Function Description Type Select the database on which Mirth® Connect will store data. URL The Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) URL string associated with selected type. Username/Password The user's unique personal identifier/access code Warning: Mirth® Connect's default database, Apache Derby, is included only to help you set up quickly.
