Prune Settings

Item	Name	Description
F	Block Size	The number of messages that will be pruned at a time. This value must be between 50 and 10,000. The recommended value for most servers is 1,000. Larger values use more memory but typically will cause the pruner to perform more quickly.
G	Prune Events	Select Yes to prune event records older than the number of days set in Prune Event Age field. Select No to leave event records unpruned.
H	Prune Event Age	Enter the number of days that event records will be kept before pruning them. When Yes is selected in the Prune Events field, event records older than the number of days set in this field are pruned.

Archive Settings

Item Name Description I Enable Archiving Determines whether message / attachment data is saved to disk before being pruned. Select Yes to save message / attachment data to disk prior to being pruned. Select No to perform a prune without saving message / attachment data. J Archiver Block Size The number of messages that will be cached by the archiver. Increase this value to improve performance. Decrease this value to reduce memory usage. This value must be between 1 and 1,000. The recommended value for most servers is 50. K Content The type of content that is exported from the messages. Note: XML serialized message is the only type that can be re-imported, and it includes all content across the message in a single XML file. Encrypt: Check Encrypt to encrypt the exported message content with the server's encryption key. Include Attachments: Check Include Attachments to include all attachments associated with the message in your exported file. Note that the content type must be set to XML

Schedule

Item Name Description C Enable Identifies whether the Data Pruner will run on a recurring schedule. Select Yes if to enable the Data Pruner. When Yes is selected, the schedule set up in the Schedule Type and Interval fields is executed. Select No to execute execute the the Data Pruner manually. When No is selected, you can manually execute Data Pruning from the Data Pruner Tasks menu using the Prune Now task. D Schedule Type Select the type of schedule to use for the pruner from the pull-down menu. Available schedule types include:: Interval Time Cron For additional information about schedule types, see Polling Settings. Select the Refresh task to update the status. Item Name Description A Current State Indicates whether the Data Pruner is currently running or not. B Processes This area identifies the Current, Last, and Next Process for the pruning. Current Process: Identifies the start time of the currently executing pruning job, the number of channels that have been processed, and how long the job has been running. Last Process: Identifies the start time of the last executed pruning job, the number of channels that were processed, and how long the job took to run. Data Pruner Settings Tab

The Data Pruner Settings tab enables you to configure the global data pruner/archiver settings. The Data Pruner Settings tab enables you to configure the global data pruner/archiver settings. In addition to seeing the current status of the pruner, you can set a specific schedule for it, and decide whether message data should be archived out to disk before being pruned. Note: Message/attachment data for channels will not be pruned unless the corresponding pruning settings on the channel are enabled. Image of the Data Pruner Settings tab. Message Pruning Settings

These settings allow you to decide when to prune and archive message data (if at all). Note that pruning does not happen automatically unless you enable the scheduler in the Data Pruner Settings Tab. For more information about message data in general, see About Message Data. Item Name Description A Store indefinitely When selected, message metadata are never pruned. B Prune metadata When selected, this field determines how long to retain message metadata before it is pruned. C Prune when metadata is removed When selected, message content follows the same pruning options set in the Prune metadata field. D Prune content When selected, the field here determines how long to retain message content before it is pruned. E Allow message archiving When checked and the data pruner and archiver are enabled, messages in this channel are archived first before they are pruned. F Prune Errored Messages When checked and the data pruner is enabled, errored messages in this channel are pruned. Parent to
