The Mirth® Connect Server Manager

The Mirth® Connect Server Manager enables you to configure and access your Mirth® Connect Server. For Windows and Mac OS X version installations, the Mirth® Connect Server Manager application resides in the system tray (Windows) or in the Applications > Mirth Connect folder (Mac). Service Tab The Service tab provides an easy way to start, restart, stop, and refresh the service, rather than using the task scheduler or command line. Server Tab The Server tab enables you to enter details about your ports, server memory, log levels, and view log files. Database Tab The Database tab is where you can to manage Mirth® Connect's internal database. Using Java 9 or greater

As documented in the Mirth Connect System Requirements, Mirth® Connect version 3.7 supports Java 8 at minimum. In order to use Java 9 or greater, you will first need to perform an extra manual step. In the Installation Directory, there should be a docs folder. Inside, there is a file called mcservice-java9+.vmoptions. This contains some extra JVM options that allow Mirth® Connect to run with Java 9 or greater without errors or warnings. Copy the contents into either the mcserver.vmoptions or mcservice.vmoptions file, depending on whether your deployment uses mcserver or mcservice. Then restart Mirth® Connect. Mirth® Connect Administrator Overview

The Mirth® Connect Administrator is used to develop and manage all channels and can be run anywhere in relation to the Mirth® Connect server. The Mirth® Connect Administrator consists of menus and view panels that change depending on the task (for example, Dashboard, Channel, Edit Channel, Settings). Note: You no longer need to use Java Web Start. NextGen Healthcare has released a new Administrator Launcher that you can use instead. See Administrator Launcher Overview. Download the Administrator Launcher You must download the Administrator Launcher to use it to open the Administrator. Launch the Administrator After you download the Administrator Launcher, you can log on to the Mirth® Connect Administrator. Log On Use the Mirth® Connect Login window to authenticate yourself and log on to the Administrator. Java Requirements

Mirth® Connect is written in Java and runs on any system capable of running a Java virtual machine. Java requirements for Mirth® Connect include the following: Java 8 or later Supported JRE/JDK distributions: The official Oracle® JRE/JDK OpenJDK distributions from various organizations Note: NextGen Healthcare recommends Oracle's OpenJDK distribution. Database Requirements

The Mirth® Connect Server requires a database for configuration and message storage. For quick deployment, development, and testing, Mirth® Connect already includes an embedded database (Apache Derby™). For production, the latest version of Mirth® Connect supports the following databases: PostgreSQL® 8.3+ MySQL 5.6+ Oracle® 12c+ SQL Server® 2005+ Note: The above database requirements apply only to what is used for the configuration and message storage for the Mirth® Connect server and have no impact on which databases Mirth® Connect can interface with.
