Note: For Linux users upgrading from 4.3.0, new URL links have been added to the Mirth® Connect windows of the setup wizard to enable navigating to the desired version from the main document/wiki pages. To get the updated links, you must uninstall and then re-install Mirth® Connect. Make sure that you have exited and stopped the Mirth Connect Administrator, Server Manager, and Server/Service before proceeding. 4.3.0 Upgrade Notes

Application upgrades for the 4.3.0 release. New Functionality for the Mirth® Connect Setup Wizard New features are added to the Mirth® Connect Setup Wizard that include, but are not limited to, the following: Added more information on the screens with links to the What's New, Upgrade Guide, and documentation. This helps users understand what information to enter on the screens. Added the ability to install your extensions at the time the application is installed or upgraded. This simplifies the process so that users no longer have to install extensions manually and restart the service. Added the ability to enter your license key for extensions. This will default to the license.key value from your mirth.properties file during an upgrade. Added the updated logo and a list of each dialog screens so that users know exactly where they are in the process. Resource Classloaders Load Classes Child-First By Default Resources now load classes "child-first" instead of "parent-first" by default. I

3.7.0 Upgrade Notes

Commercial License Key As of 3.7 commercial extensions now require a license key to be set in mirth.properties. The machine running Connect also must have outbound internet access so that our licensing server can be reached. Before upgrading, contact the help desk through our NextGen Healthcare Success Community to get your license key. Using Mirth Appliance When installing the 3.7.0 update, a wizard will prompt you to enter the license key: Standalone Installation Edit conf/mirth.properties Add a setting with key "license.key" and your license key for the value Restart the Connect service Database Connection Pools In previous versions, there was a connection pool dedicated to the Donkey engine (message processing), and a separate pool dedicated to everything else, like Administrator or API actions. In 3.7, this has been changed somewhat. You have two options: Option 1: Use two pools, one read/write and one read-only This is the default in 3.7. To enable, set this in mirth.properties:

4.4.1 Upgrade Notes

Improvements and new features included in Mirth® Connect version 4.4.1. XStream Now Uses an Allowlist Instead of a Denylist XStream is changed to use an allowlist instead of a denylist. This means that only a strict list of types are allowed to be serialized or deserialized in Mirth® Connect. This will likely have no effect on your Mirth® Connect installation. However, if you have custom channel implementations that happen to serialize or deserialize types that are not allowed by default, you may encounter ForbiddenClassException errors or something similar. To fix this problem, you'll need to allow those specific types by adding one or both of the following properties to your mirth.properties file: xstream.allowtypes - A comma-separated list of fully-qualified classes to allow. These classes can include wildcards. Example values are com.my.package.MyClass, com.my.package.MyClass$MyInnerClass, and com.my.package.*. xstream.allowtypehierarchies - A comma-separated list of fully-qualifie

3.0.0 Upgrade Notes

Message Migration If you are upgrading to Mirth® Connect by NextGen Healthcare 3.x from Mirth® Connect by NextGen Healthcare2.x, your existing messages will not be upgraded. This includes any queued messages that have not been sent, as well as any historical message records. After upgrading, Mirth® Connect 2.x messages will not be available in the Mirth® Connect Administrator, but will remain in the database in the OLD_MESSAGE table. Any messages that were queued at the time of upgrade from 2.x will not be processed. If you would like to ensure these messages are processed, we recommend flushing out all queued messages before upgrading: For Non-Polling Channels Pause the channel Wait for all queued messages to finish processing For Polling Channels Edit the channel, export the source connector (to have a backup) Change the source connector type to Channel Reader Redeploy the channel Wait for all queued messages to finish processing Edit the channel again, restore the exported source co
