View Code Tables for Dental Billing

• Quadrants: Corresponds to the quadrant or area of the mouth for specific dental procedures on the Charge Posting window. The quadrant prints in box 25 on both the ADA 2019 form and the ADA 2024 form.
• Surface: Corresponds to the surface on the tooth for specific dental procedures on the Charge Posting window. You can select one or more codes if the Allow multiple tooth surfaces check box is selected in Practice Preferences > Charge Entry. The surface prints in box 28 on both the ADA 2019 form and the ADA 2024 form.
• Tooth: Corresponds to teeth for specific dental procedures on the Charge Posting window. When you select a tooth, the surface or quadrant should also be selected when applicable. The tooth prints in box 27 on both the ADA 2019 form and the ADA 2024 form.

The Tooth, Surface and Quadrant fields on the Charge Posting window list items from their corresponding code table in File Maintenance. You can select items from the list in each field to identify the tooth, surface and quadrant for the dental service being entered.

The following tables list the descriptions for each item in the Quadrant, Surface and Tooth code tables, as well as the corresponding codes that populate on claim forms. Because the code tables are pre-loaded, you cannot add new codes. You can change the descriptions for the pre-loaded items, but not the corresponding codes.
