Categories Tab - Sched Admin

On the Categories tab, you define groupings of events, or appointment types. You can use the categories while creating weekly and daily templates for resources. Each category is mapped to a specific time slot within a template, restricting the types of events that you can schedule appointments for the specified times. You can define color for each category and it displays in the Appointment Book window when you schedule an appointment. The color provides users at-a-glance guidance as to where certain type of appointments can be scheduled. Note: When you select the Enable Enterprise Appointment Scheduling option in Practice Preferences, the Scheduling Administration window name changes to Practice Scheduling Administration. Resources Tab - Sched Admin

On the Resources tab, you define people, places, and things for which appointments are scheduled. Existing resources are listed on the tab with the following information: Resource: Name of the resource. Type: Type of resource (Person, Place or Thing). Interval: Time interval defined for the resource. Template: Type of template used for the resource (weekly or daily). Max Template Date: The last date to which a template is applied for the resource. Provider Subgrouping 1 and 2: Provider subgroupings for the resource, if defined in the Providers master file. Note: The Interval column appears only when the Allow interval overrides check box is selected in the Appt Scheduling tab of the Practice Preferences window. Classes Tab - Practice Scheduling Admin

On the Classes tab, you define classifications or groupings for the resources that you schedule appointments for in your practice. Classes can be used to search for an open time slot within a group of similar resources. When using the appointment search ahead function to find an available time slot, you can search using an individual resource or a class of resources. Searching by class is useful when you need to scan through the schedules of multiple resources to find the first available appointment. Note: When you select the Enable Enterprise Appointment Scheduling option in Practice Preferences, the Scheduling Administration window name changes to Practice Scheduling Administration. Existing classes are listed on the Classes tab with the following information: Classification: The name of the class. The following options are available from the open menu button, or the right-click menu: New: To create a classification. Open: To open a classification. Delete: To delete a classification.

Add or Modify a Class

In NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Admin > Scheduling Admin. Note: When you select the Enable Enterprise Appointment Scheduling option in Practice Preferences window, the Scheduling Admin option on the Admin menu displays the following two options: Enterprise Practice The Scheduling Administration window opens. Select the Classes tab, and do one of the following: To add a class, select the open menu button, and select New. To modify an existing class, select the class in the list and select the open menu button and select Open. The Add Classification or Edit Classification window opens. In the Classification field, enter a descriptive name for the class. This is a mandatory field. In the Details field, enter any additional notes for the class. This field is not used anywhere else in the system and is for informational purposes only. Use the Add and Remove buttons to associate resources with the class. Print a Class

You can print the details of a class as a report. The report contains the details of classification and member resources that are added to the class. In NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Admin > Scheduling Administration. Note: When you select the Enable Enterprise Appointment Scheduling option in Practice Preferences window, the Scheduling Admin option on the Admin menu displays the following two options: Enterprise Practice The Scheduling Administration window opens. On the Class tab, select the class that you want to print. Select the open menu button, , and select Print. The NextGen Report Filter: Classification Listing window opens. Note: The report has the following options: Columns Filter 2 Sort Totals Select OK on the report. The Classification Listing report opens with the following details of the class. Scheduling Administration

Scheduling Administration is an important function in NextGen® Enterprise PM. The Scheduling Administration creates the Appointment Book window and helps you schedule appointments for patients in a practice.
