Category and Location Tooltip

When you select the Show category and location tooltips on appointment book option in the General tab of the Appointment Scheduling Preferences window, a tooltip appears when you point the mouse over a time slot in the Appointment Book window. The tooltip is available in Daily view, Weekly Schedule view and Multi-View and displays the following information: Appt Start Time Resource Category Location Note: The category and location details appear in the upper-right corner of the Appointment Book window if you either select or do not select the tooltip option in User Preferences window. If a template is set up in scheduling administration to enable a time slot to be overbooked, the tooltip for that time slot in the Appointment Book window displays the number of scheduled appointments and the number of remaining appointments that can be scheduled. Appointment Book Views

In the Appointment Book window, you can view the appointment schedules for resources and locations within the practice in different ways. The following views are available: Daily Weekly List Weekly Schedule Monthly Multi-View You can select the view in the Start appt book with this view option in the General tab of the Appointment Scheduling Preferences window to determine the view that appears when you open the Appointment Book for the first time. You can select the practice in the Resource Selection/Order option in the Multi View tab of the Appointment Scheduling Preferences window to determine the resource that appears when you open the Appointment Book for the first time. Note: The first resource listed in the Resource Selection/Order appears. Daily View You can get more detailed information about the daily view of appointments for a resource. Weekly Schedule View

The Weekly Schedule view displays the appointment schedule of a resource for a week (Monday - Sunday). This view displays the appointments that are already scheduled on the selected week for the selected resource. You can use the Next Week and Previous Week buttons on the toolbar to move the calendar from one week to another. You can select the Change Resources button on the toolbar to change the resource and view the appointment schedule for the selected resource. Following are the features of the Weekly Schedule view: Each column represents one day. Columns can be resized. You must scroll to the left to view the schedules for Sunday and to the right for Saturday. The color assigned to each time slot indicates the applied category. The color displayed to the right of each time slot indicates the assigned location. Note: If there is only one location for a practice, the location column does not appear. Multi-View

The Multi-View displays the appointment schedule for multiple resources for a single day. This view displays the appointments that are already scheduled and time slots that are not yet scheduled on the selected day for resources in the selected multi-view group. You can select the Default multi-view group setting option in the Multi-View tab of the Appointment Scheduling Preferences window to determine the group of resources that displays when you open the Multi-View for the first time. You can use the Next Day and Previous Day buttons on the toolbar to move the calendar from one day to another. You can select the Change Multi-View Group button on the toolbar to change the multi-view group. The appointment schedules appear for all resources in the selected multi-view group. Monthly View

The Monthly view displays a summary of the appointment schedule for a single resource for a selected month. This view displays the total number of available time slots, scheduled appointments, and open time slots in the selected month for a selected resource. You can use the Next Month and Previous Month buttons on the toolbar to move the calendar from one month to another. You can select the Change Resources button on the toolbar to change the resource and view the appointment schedule for the selected resource. Following are the features of the Monthly view: The selected month appears in calendar format. You can double-click a day from the calendar and open the Daily view for the selected resource or the day. When you open the Monthly view, it highlights the latest day selected on the calendar. Each day of the month includes the following summary information: Appts: Total number of appointments scheduled. Slots Available: Total number of time slots available for scheduling appointmen

Weekly List View

The Weekly List view displays the appointment schedule of a resource for a week (Monday - Sunday). This view displays the appointments that are already scheduled for the selected week and resource. You can use the Next Week and Previous Week buttons on the toolbar to move the calendar from one week to another. You can select the Change Resources button on the toolbar to change the resource and view the appointment schedule for the selected resource. Following are the features of the Weekly List view: Each day of the week is represented in a block format. Scheduled appointments for a day are listed within each daily block. The colors indicating the category and location assigned to each time slot do not appear. The scheduled appointments display the patient's name from the Description field on the Add Appointment or Edit Appointment window, and the 1-3 character short description for the scheduled event.
