Add a Credit Card on File Using the Key Method

You can store a patient's credit card data in NextGen® Pay powered by InstaMed using a unique token ID. You can view the saved credit card data on the Credit Card on File tab of the Account Profile window.
  1. In NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Account.
    The Account Lookup window opens.
  2. Search and open the required account.
    The Account Profile window opens.
  3. Select the Credit Card on File tab.
  4. To add a credit card, select open menu and then select New.
    A window opens asking you to choose the method to save the credit card data.
  5. Optional: If there are existing practice preferences and no user preferences are selected, select one of the payment processing method:
    • For practices with a single MID, the NextGen® Pay powered by InstaMed web form opens on your default browser and you can enter the cheque details.
    • For practices with multiple existing MID's, the Profile and Using Outlet options appear as blank by default. You can select the desired profile and outlet, and select Process to enter the cheque details.

      Any existing user preferences are available in the window.

  6. Select Key.
    The InstaMed web form opens in the default browser.
  7. Enter the credit card details including the card number, expiry date and card holder's name.
  8. Select Submit.
    A window opens confirming that the account or credit card is saved successfully. You can set the credit card as the active card for the account.
    • To set the credit card as the active card on file for the patient, select Yes.

      The credit card appears first in the list of credit cards on the File tab and a check mark appears in the Active column.

    • To add the card to the list of credit cards for the patient, select No.
