Set Up Note Templates for an Event

The Note Template tab on the Add Event or Edit Event window is used when users must be prompted to complete a Microsoft® Word Template (.dot format) when scheduling an appointment for a specific event. The Word Template automatically appears on the Add Appointment window after you select the event and the patient for the appointment.

When you add or edit an event after selecting the Require note template option, you must add the note in the Note Template tab. If you do not add the note, then while saving the event, then a message appears stating that you must add a note if the note is required.
  1. In NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Admin > Scheduling Admin.
    The Scheduling Administration window opens.
  2. Select the Events tab.
  3. Right-click and select Open.
    The Edit Event window opens.
  4. Select the Require note template option if you want to add a note template while scheduling an appointment for the event.
  5. Select the Note Template tab.

    The existing note templates appear in the Note Templates Members section.

  6. Select the Open Record button.
    The Note Templates window opens.

  7. Select the add and remove buttons to associate note templates with the event. The Available lists all the existing note templates. The Included lists the note templates that are linked to the event.
  8. Select a note template in the Available list, and select the add button.
    The note template is added to the list of note templates that are available for the event.
  9. Select a note template in the Included list, and select the remove button.
    The note template is deleted from the list of note templates and moves to the Available list.
  10. Select OK to save the changes and close the window.
    The Note Template tab displays all Note Template Members for the event.

  11. Select a note template from the list in the Note Template Members section, and do one of the following to change the order that the note templates display to users on the Add Appointment window:
    • SelectPromote orDemote to move the item up or down in the list.
    • Select the double up or down arrow to move the item to the top or bottom of the list.
  12. Select OK to close the Add Event or Edit Event window.
