Attach a Claim Printing Library to a Payer

You can override the default Claim Printing library for a practice by specifying a default Claim Printing library for a specific payer. The default Claim Printing library for a payer overrides the default Claim Printing library for a practice when you generate a claim. In File Maintenance, on the Master Files list select System and then Payers. The Payers List window opens. Double-click the applicable payer or select the open menu button and select Open. Select the Practice Parameters tab and then the Libraries sub-tab. Select a claim printing library from the Claim Print Library drop-down list. Click OK. Parent topic: Claim Printing Library

Attach a Claim Printing Library to a Practice

A Claim Printing library must be attached to a practice to bill an encounter and generate a claim within that practice. When a library is attached to a practice, that library becomes the default Claim Printing library for the practice. To access the Practice Preferences window, do one of the following: In NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Admin > Preferences > Practice. In File Maintenance, on the Master Files list select System and then Practices. Double-click a practice, and then select Preferences. The Practice Preferences window opens. Set Up Claim Printing Library Security Right

A user group must be assigned the Claim Printing Library security rights so that you can access the Claim Printing libraries and can create or modify them. In System Administrator, select any Enterprise > Practice > User Group. On the Rights tab, expand MODULES > File Maintenance and select Claim Printing Library. Claim Printing Library

The Claim Printing library enables you to specify options that define which information prints on claim forms. You must create and attach a Claim Printing library to a practice at the practice preference level before a paper claim can be generated. 1500 Claims, UB Claims, and ADA Claims are available in the Claim Printing library. The Claim Printing library attached at the practice preferences level is the default library. At the payer level, if needed, you can set up an alternate Claim Printing library for a specific payer. You can set the type of information you want to print in each claim field using the selections in the Setting and Option columns in the Claim Printing window.
