Print a Report from the Preview Window

You can print a report from the Preview [Report Name] window. Printing from a preview enables you to select a printer, a page range, and the number of copies to be printed. Note: To successfully print a report from the Preview [Report Name] window, the report must finish processing the report data before you can close the window. If you do not wait for the processing to finish and select X on the upper right corner of the window to close it, it closes without printing the report. Select Print . The Print window opens so you can change print settings, such as the specific printer, page range, and number of copies, before you print. Your default printer is specified in your printer settings. If you want to send the report to a printer other than your default printer, choose it from the available printer listing. Select Print and the report prints according to the Print window settings. Previewing a Report

Previewing a report enables you to see how the report will look once printed. The preview screen has different tools to help you review the information on the report. The Navigation bar helps you navigate through the report pages. The numbers indicate the page you are currently viewing and the total number of report pages. Select the arrows to move to the first, previous, next, and last pages. You can also use shortcut keys on the keyboard to move from page to page. You can press the SHIFT key to initiate a cursor that changes to . Then press the left arrow to move to the previous page or press the right arrow to move to the next page. Select the Magnifying Glass to zoom in and select it again to zoom out. After you select the Magnifying Glass, you can hover the mouse arrow on the page and left-click to zoom in closer or right-click to zoom out farther. In addition, you can select the arrow next to the Magnifying Glass and choose one of the pre-set selections. You can press the ALT key

Preview and Print Reports

When a report is generated and it displays on screen, you can either print the report or you can preview the report to see how it will look when you print it. To print a report from the report display, do the following: From the report toolbar, select Print Report . Note: If you want to print specific pages instead of the entire report, select Preview Report . The report prints to your default printer. To preview a report from the report display, do the following: From the report toolbar, select Preview Report . The Print Preview window opens. If a message displays indicating the report does not fit on the page, select Yes to return to the report display, and then remove and resize columns as necessary. If you select No to return to the report, the report shows as much as possible, but some data is cut off. If you need to make changes to the page setup before printing your report, select Page Setup . The Page Setup window opens. Make your selections and then select OK to return to the report. Select Print . The Print window opens. Note: You can change print settings, such as the specific printer, page range, and number of copies, before you print. Your default printer is specified in your printer settings. If you want to send the report to a printer other than your default printer, choose it from the available printer listing. To print, select OK. If you do not need to make changes to page setup or printer settings, select Quick Print to bypass the steps above. The report prints to your default printer. Working with Reports On-Screen

When you initially run a report, it displays the data. This is not a Print Preview; it is not an accurate representation of how the report looks when you print it. To see the report in a print preview, select the Preview Report button on the report toolbar. It does, however, give you a chance to: View the actual data of the report. Manipulate the data using the "drill-down" functionality. Set the report's column sizes. You can also use the Page Up and Page Down keys on your keyboard to look through the report on-screen.
