Sections Displayed on the Advisor

The following sections display on the Advisor window: Hyperlink and Messages You can create a custom Hyperlink to display in the upper-left corner of the Advisor window. This provides a way for users in the practice to easily access a website of your choice. Appointments You can view appointment statistics for the current practice. Encounters You can view encounter statistics for the current practice. The statistics shown are As of Last Night and are updated when the nightly Advisor Update Process runs. Set up Advisor Preferences

The Advisor user preferences enable you to make settings that have an impact on the display of the Advisor window in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Access NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the Admin menu, select Preferences > User > General. The User Preferences window opens. Select the Advisor tab. To automatically display theAdvisorwindow after logging in toNextGen® Enterprise PM, select theShow upon logoncheck box. To automatically display theAdvisorwindow after changing practices inNextGen® Enterprise PM, select theShow after practice changecheck box. In the list on the left, select the check boxes for sections to display on the left side of theAdvisorwindow. In the list on the right, select the check boxes for sections to display on the right side of theAdvisorwindow. To change the order that sections display on either sides of theAdvisorwindow, select a section name in the list, and then selectorbuttons to move the section name. Customizing the Advisor

There are two ways users can customize the Advisor window in NextGen® Enterprise PM: Multiple Users This is done by a system administrator by creating a Default User Prefs - General master file in File Maintenance, and then assigning it to groups of users in System Administrator. For more information on setting up user preferences in File Maintenance and System Administrator, go to the NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest File Maintenance Master Files Guide for NextGen Enterprise. Individual User This is done by each user by accessing their General User Preferences in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Open the Practice Preferences

Do one of the following: In File Maintenance, select Master Files > System > Practices. In NextGen® Enterprise PM, select the Admin > Preferences > Practice. Double-click a practice, and then select Preferences. The Practice Preferences window opens. In the Preference List, select the desired practice preference name. The window displays the Practice Preferences related to your selection. Open Website Resources

Before you begin Ensure that you have set up the website URL in the Practice Preferences > Resources > Orders in File Maintenance. Note: For provider reference resource, you can set up the website URL as a NextGen® Enterprise EHR user preference in Tools > Preferences > Reference > Order Module - Lab Results. The user-level website URL configuration overrides the practice-level configuration. You can open specific website resources for patient education, clinical decision support, or provider reference. Note: For more information on setting up website URLs in Practice Preferences, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Orders Module Setup Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR and select a patient. Open the Orders module and select the Results tab. In the results details, select the result value for the collection date and time. Assign External Resource Links in Practice Preferences

You can assign links for the external resources in the Resources Practice Preferences. Alternatively, users can External Provider References in the User Preferences in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. These User Preference settings override the settings from the Practice Preferences. CAUTION: Because you are responsible for setting up the URLs for your practice, NextGen Healthcare does not have prior knowledge of the code system expected by the receiving website. If an unsupported code is sent to the selected URL, the URL will fail and the website will return an error message. Open the Practice Preferences. From the Preference List, select Resources.
