Enable Percent of Poverty
Percent of Poverty is enabled in Practice Preferences. Once enabled, if a valid family size and annual income exist for the Head of Household (HOH), then the Percent of Poverty and Poverty Category from the Patient Responsibility master file display in NextGen® Enterprise PM for all patients linked to the HOH. If the family size and income are changed for the HOH, then the percent and category update accordingly for all patients linked to the HOH.
To enable Percent of Poverty for a practice, do the following:
In NextGen® Enterprise PM, Percent of Poverty and Poverty Category display in the following areas:
- Account Profile on the Properties tab in the Family Information section
- Modify Patient Information on the UDS tab in the Family Information section
- Encounter Insurance list of the Insurance sub-tab on the Encounters tab in the Patient Chart
- Patient Data Sheets and Fee Tickets (if setup in Practice Preferences on the Data\Fee Ticket)
- Forms and Labels (if added to Form and Label Templates)
- Columns, Filter2 and Sorting on the following reports:
In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, Percent of Poverty and Poverty Category can be added as fields on templates because tests and treatment plans are often based on what is covered by the patient’s percent of poverty.
