An encounter can display the Family Planning Indicator on all claims generated from the encounter. When you turn on the Family Planning Encounter option, the application displays a Y in the 2400 loop, SV112 field of the electronic claim.
- In NextGen® Enterprise PM, access an encounter from the chart or the Encounter List
toolbar icon.
- Select the Claims tab, and then enable the Family Planning Encounter check box.
Note: If the plan code changes for the payer, the application does not automatically change existing records. If the plan code is added or changed on the InsuranceMaintenance window, the Family Planning Encounter setting overrides the plan code added at the payer level for the patient.
