CCI Bundling Anesthesia Edits

Principles of Medicare coding for anesthesia services involving administration of anesthesia are reported by the use of the anesthesia five-digit CPT procedure codes (00100-01860). These codes specify Anesthesia for followed by a general area of surgical intervention. When the following CPT codes are reported with an anesthesia code, it is assumed that these services are being reported as part of the anesthesia service and so will not be paid in addition to the anesthesia code. Because it is recognized that many of these procedures may occur on the same date of surgery but are not performed in the course of and as part of the anesthesia provision for the day, these codes will be separately paid only if the -59 modifier is appended to the code, indicating that the service rendered was independent of the anesthesia service. Edit Radiology Test Configuration

The Manage Radiology Tests grid on the Radiology Configuration practice template does not display any data until you select a value in the filter fields above the grid. The Category and Body Part fields use picklists from the Radiology Picklists panel. Note: Use the fields below the grid to edit the selected radiology test. The fields below the grid are referred to by the corresponding column name. Select an option for Sort Tests By: Body Part or Description. Note: This sort option also determines how the Radiology Tests grid on the Radiology Order template and the Radiology panel of the Single Order template is sorted. In the Filters section, click any field to select a value to filter the grid. Select a row from the grid. Use the fields below the grid to make the desired changes. To edit the description, click the Description field. To configure the Picklist that opens when the test is ordered, select the picklist. To add the bilateral code, click the Bilat. Add Radiology Tests

The tests in the Manage Radiology Tests grid create a list of tests that corresponds to the Standard option above the Radiology Tests grid on the Radiology Order template and the Radiology panel of the Single Order template. The Manage Radiology Tests grid does not display any data until you select a value in the filter fields above the grid. The Category and Body Part fields use picklists from the Radiology Picklists panel. Note: Use the fields below the grid to add a radiology test. Create a Custom Provider Multi-Test List

You can create a multi-test group that is used on the Radiology Order template and the Radiology panel of the Single Order template. The multi-test group appears in the Radiology Tests grid without a CPT code. When you select the multi-test group, the system moves all of the configured tests to the This Order grid. On the Radiology Configuration practice template, go to the Provider Custom Multi-Test panel. Click the Provider field, and select a provider. Enter the Category. The provider and Tests grids display the tests assigned to the category. Enter the Body Part to filter the grid. Enter the description of the multi-test group in the field below the grid, and click Add. Click Add. Select the multi-test group added in step 5. Click the Body Part field above the Tests grid to filter the grid by body part. In the Tests grid, select the desired test, and click the left arrow to move the tests to the Tests in the Multi-Test grid. The Select Side or None picklist opens. Select a value fr

Assign CPT4 Codes

CPT®4 codes are assigned using File Maintenance. Once assigned, they are then linked to the test and are used when a NextGen® Medical Necessity Check is requested. From File Maintenance > Master Files > EHR, select CPT4 Codes. Select Description. Enter a text description of the test and the search starts automatically. Select a test, and select OK. If the test does not have an assigned CPT®4 Code, enter the CPT®4 code for the selected test, and a Description. Enter the Type of Service and the Reimbursement code. Select OK to save the new value. Lab and Radiology Test Filter Descriptions

For lab and radiology test orders, you can set up test description filters on the Data 3 tab of the Set Orders Summary Filters window. This filter is not applicable for immunization orders. You can select a Match exact names only option to only show tests that match the exact description you enter. If you do not select this option, you can view tests with a partial match to the description you enter. For example, if you enter Cholesterol as the description without selecting an exact name match, this filter would display different types of cholesterol tests such as HDL Cholesterol; Cholesterol, Total; and LDL Cholesterol (Direct). If you select an exact name match, only tests with the description of Cholesterol would appear. If no tests with this exact description are found, nothing is shown.
