Attach an Alternate Type of Service Library to a Payer

From the File Maintenance window, select Master Files - System > Payers. Double-click on the applicable payer. The Add/Modify Payer Information window opens. Select the Practice tab > Libraries tab. Select the applicable Alternate Type of Service Library from the Type of Service Library field. Select OK. Parent topic: Types of Service Library

Add or Modify a Non-Coordinated SIM Library

Open File Maintenance. Select Libraries, and then Non-Coordinated SIM Library. The Non-Coordinated SIM List window opens. Do one of the following: To create a library, select open menu button and select New. To modify a library, select the library from the list, and then select open menu button and select Open. The Non-Coordinated Service Item Library Maintenance window opens. In the Non-Coordinated SIM Library Name field, enter a name for the library. This field is required. Set up Non-Coordinated SIM Configuration as needed. For more information on setting up Non-Coordinated SIM Configuration, see Set up Non-Coordinated SIM Configurations. Enable Facility Billing for Places of Service

The place of service can indicate whether a line item is facility or non-facility, which can be priced and reimbursed differently for the same service. For example, service rendered in a surgical center could have different reimbursement from service rendered in an office. Open File Maintenance, and then select Code Tables. The Code Tables List window opens. Select Places of Service code table from the Code Table list, and then double-click a place of service. The Modify Place of Service Information window opens. Select the Facility check box, and then select OK. The Code Tables List window displays a green check mark in the Facility column for the place of service. Selecting a Place of Service You can assign a place of service to a location or service item code after you have set up the Places of Service code table and indicated the facilities. Add or Modify a Non-Coordinated SIM Library

Open File Maintenance. Select Libraries, and then Non-Coordinated SIM Library. The Non-Coordinated SIM List window opens. The Non-Coordinated Service Item Library Maintenance window opens. In the Non-Coordinated SIM Library Name field, enter a name for the library. This field is required. Add a Service Swap Library

Open File Maintenance. Select Libraries, and then Service Swap. The Service Swap List window opens. Select the open menu icon, and then select New. The Service Swap window opens. Select the open menu icon, select New. The Add Service Swap Info window opens. Add the new service swap combination, and then select OK Parent topic: Service Swap Library

Set Up an Alternate Type of Service Codes Library

From the File Maintenance window, select Libraries > Type of Service. Select open menu button , and then select New. Enter the name of the new library in the Service Name field. Select open menu button , and then select New. The Add Type of Service Alternate window opens. In the Type of Service list, select the applicable standard Type of Service. The Code field is automatically populated with the standard code and the field is disabled and cannot be changed. Enter the applicable Alternate Type of Service code for: paper claims in the Alt Paper field. electronic claims in the Alt Electronic field. Note: When entering alternate type of service codes for paper or electronic claim types, you must fill in both of these fields. For example, if a payer requires an alternate type of service code for paper claims, but they want the standard type of service code for electronic claims, then you must enter the alternate code in the ALT Paper field and the standard code in the ALT Electronic field
