The Defaults-2 tab on the Add Payer Information and Modify Payer Information windows enable you to define various parameters and options for a payer. These are system-level settings that are used by all practices in all enterprises that utilize the payer. Real-time Address Validation for a Payer

Real-time address validation occurs after you enter an address for a Payer and select OK to save the data. This process applies to addresses entered on the Payer Defaults-1 tab for the Main Address and the Refund Address on the Add/Modify Payer Information window. After you selectOKthe address is automatically sent to the USPS address validation API and compared to the addresses in the USPS database. The address fields that are sent for validation are address 1, address 2, city, state, and zip. The name of the entity is not sent. The USPS address validation API responds with one of several messages stating: Valid address. Address cannot be found. This address may be undeliverable. Address can be updated. The USPS provides the address found in the database.
