Set up User Preferences for the Patient Information Bar

Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. To display the Patient Information Bar in the patient chart in NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Admin > Practice > Preferences > Patient Information Bar > PM, and then select Show Patient Information Bar check box. Shoe PIB in PM Note: To change the appearance of the Patient Information Bar in a patient chart in NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Admin > Preferences > User > General. You must select the Show Patient Information Bar check box first to enable the In Charge Entry, In Payment Entry, and Patient Information Bar Color options. To display the Patient Information Bar during charge entry, select the In Charge Entry check box. To display the Patient Information Bar during payment entry, select the In Payment Entry check box. To assign a different color to the Patient Information Bar, clear the Default check box in the Patient Information Bar Color section. The numeric values for the default color appear. Setup Default General Preferences - Chart Tab

The Chart user preferences enable you to make settings that have an impact on specific areas of the Patient Chart in NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the Default User Prefs - General List window, open a master file. The Default User Preferences - General window opens. Select the Chart tab. In theDefault Word Processorfield, select one of the following to use as the default processor when creating notes in patient charts: Wordpad Word ® In theEncounter List Default Displaysection, select from the following options for the default display of encounters in patient charts: Encounter Date: view encounters listed by date. Encounter Number (default): Select this check box to view encounters listed by number. Both: view encounters listed by date and number. Note: You must select at least one check box. Viewing the Patient Information Bar

To use the Patient Information Bar in NextGen® Enterprise PM, you must configure the Practice Preferences. For more information on configuring Practice Preferences for the Patient Information Bar, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest File Maintenance Preferences Guide forNextGen®Enterprise, and then see the Patient Information Bar Preferences section. The chart user preferences must be set up to enable the Patient Information Bar to appear on the patient chart during charge posting and payment entry in NextGen® Enterprise PM. User preferences override the practice preferences. Open the Patient Information Bar in the Patient Chart You can open the Patient Information Bar in the patient chart. Open the Patient Information Bar in Charge Posting You can open the Patient Information Bar in the Charge Posting window. Set Up Patient Information Bar Practice Preferences for NextGen® Enterprise PM

From the Preference List, select Patient Information Bar, and then select PM tab. Select the Show Patient Information Bar check box. To display the Patient Information Bar on the Charge Posting, select the In Charge Entry check box. To display the Patient Information Bar on the Payment Entry, select the In Payment Entry check box. Define which information to display on the bar in the Patient Information section. Define which information to display on the bar in the Chart Link section. For each Field that you want to be accessible from the Patient Information Bar, do the following: In the Table field, select the Open File and then select a table. In the Field field, select a field from the table to display the field value on the Patient Information Bar. In the Display Label field, enter a label for the field on the Patient Information Bar.
