Change an Export Header
To delete a field indicator from the Export Header:
Highlight all the information to the right of the bracketed information.
Right-click and then select
Delete
.
The only part of the field indicator that continues to display is the information in the brackets.
Highlight the brackets and the information, and then select the
Delete
key on your keyboard.
Continue to add or change the field indicators you want for the Export Header.
Select
OK
.

Set Up the Letter Export Header
The letter Export Header is set up the same way for each letter type that can be exported. Note: Collection letters are those letters that are listed in the Demand Encounter letter type category, which is listed in the Letter Type field on the Letters window. To set up an Export Header: In File Maintenance, select Master Files, and then select Practice > Letters. The Letters window opens. In the Letter Type field, select the letter type you want to set up or change the Export Header for. Double-click the letter from the list that opens. The Modify Letter Setup window opens. Select the SQL button to display the Modify Letter SQL window, then select the Export Header tab. The Export Header tab displays default SQL. Right-click the Export Header section of the window, and then select the field indicator you want to add to the Export Header. The field indicator you selected displays on the window. Letter Export Header
The ability to export letters in batch mode to ASCII file format means that you can export these letters to a clearinghouse so the clearinghouse can generate and send the letters for your practice. Before you can export letters, the Export Header needs to be set up. However, if you want to change the Export Header, you need to understand the function of the Export Header and how it is set up. The Export Header is necessary for the clearinghouse to print the letters. The information that you choose to include in the setup of the export header specifies to the clearinghouse what information is being used to address the envelopes that they mail. The information that is usually included in the Export Header includes patient information, practice information, and any information that relates to the type of letter that is being exported. When you export letters in an ASCII format file, the Export Header information that you have selected to print on the letters is displayed on the H1 line of

Field Indicator Options
Each table lists the primary field indicator options followed by the associated secondary field indicators, which you select to appear on the Export Header, and a description of the field indicators. You can access the field indicators by right-clicking on Export Header tab of the Modify Letter SQL window. Note: Some of the names of the Export Header field indicators might be different from what is listed in the following tables if any changes were made to the information on the Pre or SQL tabs of the Modify Letter SQL window. Prefix Practice ID in the Export File for Account and Budget Letters
You can display the Practice ID to the account number in the export file for Account letters and Budget types of letters. Open File Maintenance. Select Master Files > Practice > Letters. The Letters window opens. Select Letter Type, and then select the letter type to export. Right-click the desired letter from the list, select Edit, and then select Edit Header. The Export Header for Budget First 1 window opens. Double-click or drag and drop Account number with Prefix Practice ID to the left side. Delete a Head of Household - Relations/Roles Tab
Open the Patient Information window for the desired patient. Select the Relations/Roles tab. The Head of Household section displays the current head of household. Select the Open Record button. The Modify Head of Household Information window appears. Select Delete. The following prompt appears: Confirm removal of patient head of household? To delete the head of household, select OK.
